Lots of information regarding the beaches around Pefkos.


With the exception of Fokia and Arkeftas Bay, all of the beaches below are organised beaches and have sun-loungers and parasol which are chargeable. Prices will vary from vendor to vendor and beach to beach - in Pefkos they start from €15 for two and go up to around €50 for luxury beds. We would advise that you ask the price before settling down for the day. Once you have paid for your sun lounger, it's yours for the day, regardless of what time you arrive, you will be asked to pay for a full day use. 



There are also spaces on each beach for people to put their towels down, albeit some have more space than others. You are entitled to put a towel down anywhere on the beach, but there is usually a very clear space for non-sunbed users to occupy. Please be considerate of people who have paid for a sunbed when deciding where to place your towel. Plakia Beach and the Coralli/Palm Bay section have the most generous space for guests not wishing to use a sunbed.

LEE BEACH (MAIN BEACH)

Biggest/longest beach in Pefki.


All fine sand.


Shallow, gently shelving & safe swimming, mostly sand underfoot.


Busiest beach, many loungers/parasols.


A few areas to lay down towels particularly the area near the entry steps and near the Watersports hub nr Flyers.


Although busy, relaxed atmosphere and plenty of room for swimming/snorkelling. 


Variety of loungers from standard to luxury 4 poster wooden beds with service.

Self drive boat hire/paddle boarding at Flyers end of beach.


Glass Bottom Boat trip departure point.


Toilets are located at the back of the car park overlooking the main entrance to Lee Beach.


Handful of outside showers available also.


Good parking is available.


A choice of restaurants/ tavernas very close by Lee BB, Flyers, Kritamo, Seaview, Philosophia etc.


Use of Taverna toilets if purchasing food/drink only (not public)

 

A 8 to 10 min stroll from central Pefki (taken taxi rank as a central hub so folks can gauge distance/time to each beach)


Accessibility: via lane leading from Jasmine down to Flyers/main beach road/Philosophia steps/Lindia Thalassa steps/path leading down from Sifis studios and beyond/Kavos Beach shortcut path.

Palm Bay

Mostly fine sand beach.


Very relaxed/chilled/never crowded.


Safe swimming/snorkelling Bay. 


Small & friendly

Water entry: one side all sand/other side rocky.


Comfortable loungers.


Plenty of space for towels.


Relatively new beach bar with relaxing area right on back of beach.


Food/drink available.


Use of pool for non residents provided purchase food/drink etc.


Some free parking for non residents.


Approx 15 min flat stroll from taxi rank (centre) via Lardos coast road. Access via Palm Bay Hotel.


Also accessible from neighbouring beaches (Plakia/Ag Thomas)


Beach showers.


Small Shop to buy essential items.

PLAKIA BEACH

Mainly all sand.


Safe swimming/snorkelling.


Mainly sandy underfoot on water entry, some rocky areas.


Beach showers.


Comfortable loungers to rent.


Plenty of space for towels.


Relaxed atmosphere.


Small & friendly.


Tradional beach kantina at back of beach.

 

Food /drink/shade.


Toilet available only for patrons

(buy food/drinks etc)


Limited parking on back of beach.


12 min walk approx from taxi rank in resort accessible via a signposted lane from coast road heading out to Lardos.


Also accessible via Ag Thomas Beach area

Palm Bay beach bar a 5 min walk away.

AG THOMAS BEACH

Very quiet & relaxed.


Lots of character.


Small and friendly.


2 shallow water coves with sandy beach and sandy water entry. Part pebbly on entry in parts. 


Loungers/parasols available to rent.


A few areas for towels on the beach.


Beach shower.


No other facilities.


Nearest bar is Evi/Med Bar which has access steps on back of the beach.


 Non patrons can buy drinks/ use private toilets (only if purchase made) 


Accessible via the lane leading down from Pefkos By Night Bar.


Also accessible from Plakia Beach in the other direction.

The Coralli/Palm Bay Stretch

Located in front of The Coralli studios/rest.


Unorganised beach

(no loungers etc on the beach itself)


Wide/expansive beach.


Mix of coarse sand & rocky areas.


Put down towels anywhere.


A combination of good swimming/snorkelling as rocky/sandy areas on entry to water.


Very relaxed

Coralli restaurant and bar available to non patrons.


Toilets for use if purchasing etc.


Non residents can occasionally pay for the luxury sun loungers/4 poster beds located etc located on the stepped/landscaped area at the back of the beach belonging to The Coralli

(ask staff to check availability/cost)


No facilities on Beach itself.


Next door to Palm Bay beach.


Access via The Coralli restaurant/hotel with limited parking at front, only if eating etc.


An approx 15 min walk from central Pefki (taxi rank area)

Also accessible via Ag T/Plakia/Palm Bay beaches.

Small/intimate beach.


Relaxed feel.


All sandy.


Safe swimming.


Sand on entry to water.


Good snorkelling.


Loungers/parasols.


Showers.


WIFI.


Beach boy service.


Downhill access via the Amfialos Taverna area.


Amfialos Taverna overlooks Kavos (food/drink)


Toilets available for everyone at Amfialos Restaurant.


A good 20 min plus walk (partly uphill)


From taxi rank (head up to Nikolas Taverna & take downhill lane to Kavos)


Also accessible via a rough shortcut path from the end of Lee Beach.

Fokia Beach

Not a beach but a stunning bay.


Fantastic swimming/snorkelling in crystal clear calm waters.


Quite often no one else around.


Waterhoppers occasionally there for scuba.


No loungers/facilities etc


No steps down to waters edge.


Access via scrubland, rough paths down.


 Relatively safe if take your time/care.


Water entry rocky/pebbly so swim shoes may be an idea.


Great photo opps.


25 min walk partly uphill from tax rank, head towards Nikolas Taverna, Eagles Nest & keep following lane into rural area.

Nothing nearby, nearest facilities/pool/shop/food/bar is at Eleni a 10 min walk away.

Arkeftas Bay

A remote, very quiet swimming/snorkelling bay.


Crystal clear water.


Usually no one around.


No facilities.


25 mins plus from taxi rank head up to Nikolas Taverna and then Pefkos Village Resort.


food/drink/shop at nearby PVR 2 mins away.


also another shop/food/bar at Eleni a 10/12min non walk away.


Amfialos Taverna a 10/12 walk away.
